History of HES
The Hellenic Ergonomics Society
(HES) was founded on July 1988 and
became an IEA federated society on August 1994. Its objective is the
advancement, proliferation and promotion of ergonomics science through
the collaboaration, knowledge sharing, methods and practice,
and
experience among Ergonomists but also among professionals originating
from other disciplines, whose domains of experise include the research
and understanding of the contribution of human activity in design,
production and use of equipment, indicators and production
means..
The Hellenic Ergonomics Society
currently counts 43 full members. In
their majority they are engineers. The rest are physiologists,
occupational physicians and professional from related disciplines.Four
members of the HES have been accredited with the Eur.Erg. title
(European Ergonomists).
International Relations of the HES
International Ergonomics Association (ΙΕΑ)
Hellenic
Ergonomics Society is a federated member of the International Ergonomics
Association
(ΙΕΑ) since 1994.
Since then, HES takes part in every congress as well as the IEA council
meetings.
HES is represented to the IEA council by Prof. Nicolas Marmaras.
Centre for the Registration of European Ergonomists
(CREE)
Hellenic Ergonomics Society is the national body
through which Greek ergonomists can submit their application for the
certificaton of European Ergonomist (Eur.Erg).
HES is taking part in the CREE council meetings through its
representative and submits for evaluation the candidatures of the Greek
Ergonomists.
Federetion of European Ergonomics Societies
(FEES)
Hellenic Ergonomics Society has been a founding
member of the Federation
of European Ergonomics
Societies.
Through its representative, HES takes part in the FEES council and
collaborates with all the FEES members in the promotion of Ergonomics
in the European Union.
European Ergonomist certification (Eur.Erg.)
The European Ergonomist certification and the relevant accreditation
title
(Eur. Erg.) is allocated by the Centre for the Registration of European
Ergonomists.After a thorough examination of the formal and practical
qualifications of all candidates, knowledge and experience is certified
in the implementation of ergonomics disciplines
.

Eur.Erg. Certification Procedure
In order to get certified as European Ergonomists and become
accredited with the Eur.Erg. title you need to be a member of the Greek
Ergonomics Society (for Greek residents). Then you should prepare the
candidature file to the respective committee of the Hellenic Ergonomics
Society and your candidature will be evaluated from the domestic
evaluation committee, which in turn will promote your file to the next
CREE council meeting.
